Intoxicated Zodiac donates a portion of the proceeds from the sale of its products (organic tote bags, organic candles, handmade muddler, handmade apron, handmade coasters) to NAVS
(The National Anti-Vivisection Society). Each year millions of animals (many of whom were once household pets) are put to a tortuous and unnecessary death. Many companies admit that animal testing is not beneficial to product development. These progressive-minded companies instead use the many alternatives now available, such as computer models and in vitro technology. Unfortunately, there are also companies who ignore the data that illustrates the inaccuracy of such tests. This is due in part to the influence of special interest groups and lobbies in Washington.
NAVS seeks to expose the truth behind this outdated practice to corporations, schools, lawmakers and the public, so that animal testing will be forever abolished.
While studying Cocktail Astrology, Intoxicated Zodiac studied ways to lighten its corporate footprint: Packaging is reused or made with partially recycled content. Adhesive labels printed are on tree-free stock, with soy ink when available. Cocktail coasters are made from responsibly harvested pulp and printed with soy ink. Packing material is reused or rescued. Gift wrap is recycled (40% post consumer.) Ribbon was rescued from the commercial waste stream. Tissue wrap was discarded from a local tablecloth factory. This site hosted is by
Dreamhost, a carbon-offset company. Our packing tape is biodegradable, fiberglass-reinforced
gummed tape with water activated starch adhesive. Plastic tape is an oil-based product which prevents the cardboard to which it is adhered from being recycled. No company today should be using plastic packing tape. Our products (organic tote bags, organic candles, handmade muddler, handmade apron, handmade coasters) have been developed with the health of the planet and all of its inhabitants in mind.
