Both the Plata and Reposado varieties from Las Pomez are available now. The 2009 vintage of Añejo from El Carrizal, which is aged for a full year, will be released in July. Ocho was launched on August 8, 2008 in California , and the first vintage was sold out in less than six months. What differentiates Ocho from other tequilas and makes it unique in its category is its rarity. Because of the time it takes an agave to mature, each estate cannot be replenished for almost ten years after each harvest, thus making each vintage of Ocho a rare and collectable tequila. very, very smooth indeed…

As the fastest growing spirits category in the U.S., the folks over at GRAN CENTENARIO know consumers are thirsty for premium and aged tequilas. With summer right on our doorstep, enthusiasm for this refreshing spirit will likely grow. enter AZUL TEQUILA, a reposado tequila made from 100% blue agave, retailing for only $20 a bottle! for the price, the taste is excellent… so kick it up a notch and pour that margarita with reposado instead of silver for a change!!!

while the famous mexican cerveza cocktail, the MICHELADA, is made with saturn’s lime and mar’s hot sauce, it is obviously sagittarius’s lady of guadalupe who is enjoying it here! so happy cinco de mayo to this special woman, whose alter is on display at COMIDA in nyc. come check her out and experience a MICHELADA first hand…

MICHELADA:

Fill glass with ice and add:
1/2 ounce valentina sauce
1/2 ounce maggi sauce
1 ounce fresh lime juice
top with mexican beer

garnish: chipotle salt with slice of lime
***chipotle salt is a blend of kosher salt and chipotle powder. it has a nice smoky, and subtly spicy flavor.

bone up on your knowledge of AGAVERO…
“The master distiller selects the highest quality 100% blue agave añejo and reposado tequilas that have been separately aged in specially charred, French Limousin oak barrels. The añejo tequila is aged up to eighteen months and the reposado tequila is rested for nearly a year. The tequilas are combined and then hand blended with the essence of Damiana, a flower indigenous to the hot mountains of Jalisco that has been rumored for centuries to stir up the emotions among individuals.” ($24.99 750 ml bottle)
