In order to influence people to become vegetarian out of ethical concern rather than faddish interest in celebrity (my first issue with PETA's ads), you have to eliminate the view of animals as commodities and stop objectifying them as bodies. By emphasizing beautiful women (Pam Anderson, Dominique Swain, Alicia Silverstone) they are reinforcing the same kind of objectification on us and usig sex to sell an behavior, a way of thinking about the world. At its heart, that's an effort doomed to fail.
