if you should be so lucky as to find yourself imbibing in new york’s algonquin hotel, try to avoid choking on their MARTINI ON THE ROCK. yes, a 1.5 carat diamond sits in the bottom this moth-watering and wallet-shrinking cocktail.
while this is the most expensive drink i’ve come across yet, there are many other obnoxiously priced tipples, ranging from $100 to $4,350 on THRIFTER. worth checking out; not all of them depend on expensive baubles to warrant their price.
don’t forget about the $300 pearl martini (at least proceeds go to charity)
also, this just in, a $1,000 LONE STAR MARTINI served at the capital grille in washington dc. (ciroc vdka & creme de mure garnishee with a tahitian fresh water pearl necklace.) wonder if george has ever ordered laura one… lord knows he should.
