LIBRA COCKTAIL: ORIGINAL SIN
Come hither Dear Libra and I will tell you about yourself. You are the light hearted, charming, diplomatic that everyone likes. On a good day. On a bad, (when life is mildly discordant) well, let’s not even go there. No type A personalities here… Libras shun stress, like, virgin drinks. But credit given where credit is due, this sign trumps all the others at the art of flirtation. I wouldn’t be surprised if Eve were a Libra. Adam didn’t stand a chance. Which brings us to that ill-fated apple in the Garden of Eden. It’s sweet flavor and pleasing form connect it to the planet of love and fertility, Venus. Something about apples and tricks… wasn’t that what got Snow White? The apple has long been associated with countless aphrodisiacal tales. Extraordinarily beautiful flowers, highly fragrant blooms, enticingly sweet nectar… all traits of Venusian plants. Venus’ shining brilliance makes her the easiest planet to see from Earth, her beauty is obvious to all who gaze upon her. And once Libra sips this magic potion, it is sure to become the APPLETINI of her eye.
ORIGINAL SIN (APPLETINI)
INGREDIENTS:
- 3 oz freshly extracted apple juice (green or gold apples preferred–if using red, remove skin, unless you want a reddish hue to your drink)
- 2 oz simple syrup*
- 1 oz freshly extracted lemon juice (if you are using Granny Smith apples, then use a little less lemon juice)
- 1 1/2 oz gin
- slice of apple OR sugar to rim
INSTRUCTIONS:
Add gin, apple juice, simple syrup, lemon juice to shaker filled with ice. Shake mixture until container feels cold. Prepare Martini glass by rimming edge with sugar. Pour into glass and enjoy.

*It is simple to make simple syrup. Add equal amounts of sugar and water into leak proof container and shake every twenty minutes until mixture is dissolved. Store in fridge.
